RDJ has made this into a film beyond the other superhero flicks for me. I hope it lives up to its expectations. But GP is always a little dire, god love her. I can't see those two working together on screen at all.Cellar Doorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02355359160219466650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28308042.post-32908457994428535752008-05-15T15:10:00.000-04:002008-05-15T15:10:00.000-04:00I'm looking forward to Ledger's performance in The...I'm looking forward to Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight...la femmehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14813522032816255942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28308042.post-66331057824288916012008-05-14T17:31:00.000-04:002008-05-14T17:31:00.000-04:00jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssiiiiiiiiiiccccccccccc...jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssiiiiiiiiiicccccccccccaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, we miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiss yooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07263384686812990223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28308042.post-7498248490730003242008-05-14T14:50:00.000-04:002008-05-14T14:50:00.000-04:00It was of course, excellent, but there was little ...It was of course, excellent, but there was little doubt that would be my overall impression. Probably the best superhero movie I have seen however(and there have been more than a few). I agree they missed an opportunity toward the end with GP’s Pepper Potts. The first two thirds of the film I really liked the character. If they had played her a little more cool, measured and serious in the crisis point, maybe taking control of the group of special agents, it would have been far more fitting the rest of the performance, but they allowed her to be something of the damsel instead and squandered the talent.

They nailed Tony though. Aside from all the flying, which always sucker-punches some “wow” part of me, I was duly impressed with how accepting Tony was of his vulnerabilities. He makes that adjustment away from the high-wire playboy to hero so quickly, without languishing in some wallow of identity confusion. For me, this underscores his intelligence, which is at the end of the day what intoxicates me with comics. The best comics are about intelligent people, hero or villian, and the filmmakers of Iron Man never forgot that, and they let an intelligent actor play to that strength.William Owenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18380003794402258523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28308042.post-84004165527510007282008-05-08T10:42:00.000-04:002008-05-08T10:42:00.000-04:00RDJ basically rules the world, as far as I'm conce...RDJ basically rules the world, as far as I'm concerned. He’s the kind of actor you can watch in anything, twice. And while I try not to take things too seriously or delve too deeply into expectations, it does make one feel less awash in the tides when material you have some kind of cultural affinity towards is handled deftly and attains some wider appreciation.

I am most eager for is the seamlessness I imagined when I first heard RDJ was Tony Stark, him being the man who has to learn how to be the hero.

I guess I have to go see it now, as I’m already waxing appreciatively about it. One day to go.William Owenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18380003794402258523noreply@blogger.com
